Good Sounds LLC, doing business as CarolBrass Northwest, (refer to CBNW) is the official wholesaler, marketing and production center of the brass musical instrument products produced by a Taiwanese company Hoxon Gakki Corporation (refer to HGC), in the United States and Canada.
HGC is a renowned brass musical instrument manufacturer in Taiwan. The owners of HGC are Carl Lee (Carl’s former English name is Kim) and Carol Lo, they are husband and wife and founded HGC in 1989. HGC produces high quality brass musical instruments for its own brand CarolBrass® instruments. In addition, HGC supplies instruments for several brands (OEM/ ODM business) and parts for brass instrument builders.
CBNW serves as the exclusive agent of HGC in the markets of the United States and Canada. CBNW distributes CarolBrass® brass musical instruments, instrument cases, accessories, general brass musical instrument parts and OEM/ ODM instruments across the country. In addition to the wholesale business, CBNW is also responsible for the brand managment of CarolBrass®.
CBNW was officially founded in Washington, the United States on June 05, 2024. The founder is Wely Lee (refer to Wely) who is the eldest son of Carl Lee and Carol Lo. Wely Lee and Tieny Chung (Wely’s wife, refer to Tieny) have been working at HGC since 2011. In the afternoon of January 19th, 2024, Wely waked up from a surgery in hospital, Wely told Tieny that he decided to pursue his dream “investing in a brass musical instrument business in the United States that supports his family business”. Few months later, CBNW was founded. CBNW commits to bring quality brass instrument products, produced in Taiwan, into the markets of the United States and Canada.
Wely is an enginnering and marketing graduate and he started his career at HGC straight away after he finished his degree in July, 2011. Wely engages in various management tasks in HGC including sales, marketing, production, international business and logistics. With several years of sales and production front-line experiences, is is said that Wely is ready for the new venture in the United States.
Tieny finished her study together with Wely in June, 2011. Inspired by Wely and Carol, Tieny followed Wely’s steps and joined HGC in late July, 2011. Tieny’s responsiblity at HGC is the assistant of Wely’s mother Carol. She assists Carol in the general management, bookkeeping, advertising, HR and logistics. Tieny became part-time based position after her and Wely’s first son born in November, 2014.
Okay…let’s get back to GBNW…
The present business operation is at a 1500 ft warehouse in Overlake Business Park, Redmond, Washginton. However, given that Wely and Tieny are not citizen of the United States, they need to apply for business visa (work permit) before they can operate “on site” business activities in Washington. Wely and Tieny are now at the long queue of visa application. Hopefully, they can be onshore in the winter of 2025.
While Wely and Tieny are not able to conduct business in Washingont now, they operate CBNW business remotely at a shared office room inside HGC’ factory in Taiwan. You may wonder what happen at HGC after Wely and Tieny move to the United States? Will there be no man assisting Carl in handling the most top management within the factory? Need not to worry! In fact, Wely’s younger brother, Wesley, will assist Carl in the factory operation. Wesley started his employment at HGC in 2015 in order to take over Carol’s duty (Carol passed in 2016 due to illness), playing a key role in the finance and general managements.
With Wesley’s help, Wely and Tieny are more confident for their new venture in the United States. Apart from the brass instrument production, Wesley and Carl are also preparing the new beer business now! They expect to start the new microbrewery in Taiwan in near future, while Wely and Tieny will continue to focus on the brass musical instrument business in the United States and Canada.

Wely’s dad Carl Lee and mom Carol Lo founded the CarolBrass factory (aka Hoxon Gakki Corp.) in 1989. Wely has been working at the factory as the head of sales/ marketing since 2011. He founded the Good Sounds LLC in Washington State in June 2024 in order to support his parents’ business.
Tieny Chung (YI-TIEN CHUNG)
Inspired by Wely, Tieny started her career journey at CarolBrass factory (aka Hoxon Gakki Corp.) in 2011. Tieny’s role is an associate at the factory supporting Carol Lo. Tieny moves to Washington in order to support Wely’s new venture.

us quality CAROLBRASS®
Another mission we set up a company in the U.S. is that we want to create a series of US made CarolBrass® instruments by working with local workshops in Washington. We provide the components and the local workshops help building custom instruments. We will also outsource the quality components in the U.S. given U.S. produces the most iconoic raw brass material in ths world. We understand this project could take some time to complete but for us it is very important to build strong realtionships with local workshops.
CULTURAL DIFFUSION
As a manufacturer and a supplier of brass musical instruments, it is no doubt that we are responsible for encouraging people to play brass musical instruments. Spreading the culture of playing brass musical instruments is one of our main missions. We are keen to supports the local music insititutions as possible as we could, while we are operating the business in the U.S.. We import brass musical instruments, accessories and parts directly from CarolBrass factory in Taiwan (aka Hoxon Gakki Corp.), then distribute these products to our customers. Our role is to helping customers obtain these products from CarolBrass factory quickly and smoothly.
